Seasonal holiday lighting used for Halloween decorative lighting

Holiday lights in October?!?! You may be thinking that is far to early to begin installing Christmas lights on your home. However, we here at MN Holiday & Landscape Lighting want to help provide you with some upsides as to why doing so might be an even better option.

October is obviously a vibrant time of the year when the leaves are changing, sweaters and flannels are the in, Oktoberfest festivals run our pockets dry (but not our bellies), and let's obviously not forget about the spooky festivities of Halloween. So why would you want to add installing holiday lights into the already busy mix of events? Well there are plenty of reasons to have your rooflines hung and your trees draped in added colors and sparkles and we wanted to provide you with our top 5 reasons as to why you might consider doing so this year.

1. There isn't any snow yet.

With the changing of seasons from Summer to Fall the upper Midwest is notoriously known for having some quite cold weather which only extends into Winter. With these changes follow every Minnesotan's favorite form of precipitation, snow! Luckily in the month of October, we likely haven't seen any; however, we will never forget the infamous Halloween blizzard of 1991.

Snow isn't necessarily a bad part of winter nor October, but if you thought walking on your roof without snow was dangerous, imagine adding a nice slippery inch or few. That's what we like to call in our industry, Santa's slippery slope, although a quick ticket to the ER isn't the nicest early holiday gift.

2. Early bird gets the worm as they say. Save more when you hang your lights early!

Take advantage of being ahead of the game by crossing the holiday lights off your list! There's nothing quite like having one less troublesome chore to think about, not to mention the typical early installation discounts. During the month of October we at MN Holiday & Landscape lighting want to encourage our customers to hang their holiday lights with saving of up to 10%. If you are interested in seeing what a 10% off quote looks like for you home contact our team today for a free quote and initial design consultation. Its only a few short clicks away and we would love to help make your dreams come to life!

3. You can use the lights as more than just Christmas lights!

If you decide you want to pay a little extra for your lights you can always decide to purchase an RGB option for yourself. RGB holiday lights allow you to choose from tons of different color options and varieties to match to any occasion. Each RGB light system presents different abilities and design options. We recommend you contact your local light supplier to see what they might have available. Color changing lights will allow you to have the perfect holiday lighting options for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas & more!

4. You don't have to turn the lights on, but you also don't have to stress about putting them up later.

Even if the are on the roof, that doesn't mean you need to turn them on. It's really simple to just the lights unplugged until the time is right - that could be the first day of November, the day after Thanksgiving, or even the day before Christmas. The best part? It's entirely up to you!

5. Diwali/Dipawali, the Indian festival of lights starts on October 22nd this year.

Perhaps you come from a cultural heritage of India or have friends or neighbors that do. Each year at the end of October or beginning of November, Diwali, the festival of lights is celebrated as a major cultural holiday. The celebration last for 5 days and represents the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. With that being said, if you decide to hang your lights in the month of October you too can join in the festivities. Don't miss out on the fun and hang your lights this October!
